Podle vydavatele je vzestup e-knih způsoben velkým množstvím čteček získaných uživatel v podobě vánočních dárků. V týdnu od 26. prosince do 1. ledna se na žebříčku obejvilo 42 e-knih. USA Today nezveřejňuje oddělené žebříčky e-knih a klasických knih (jako New York Times či WSJ), stejně tak nerozlišuje mezi provedením u papírové klasiky.
